Rolando Henao Looks Back!
MIAMI BEACH, FL–Heimtex continues being an important part of the home textile industry, even as the show continues shrinking. Perhaps it was too big once upon a time? Where else does the industry, at the international level, congregate between August and January?
Kudos to Messe for their continuous effort in keeping the show interesting; we all know it has been challenging during the past few years. But they continue reshuffling the halls and pushing forward. My only question is: why place most of the Chinese suppliers all the way in the back of the complex? Why, amid shuffling locations, not keep all suppliers in the front half of the complex? Optics aside, I think we all are fully aware that the show is small. Apologies if I’m wrong.
One pleasant surprise about the location is Frankfurt’s transformation since Brexit. The number of new and beautiful buildings, the improvements all over the city, the restaurants and shopping, the blend of “old” and new is captivating. A city that I would now consider making it part of a vacation plan in Germany.
A special shout out to the Old Opera: I managed to go to a concert there during my short stay in January. What a beautiful building, a must see. And, right before the show, I had dinner at the restaurant inside; again, beautiful… an outstanding menu of typical German fare, great service and reasonable price.
