Zorlu Textile Modernizes its Woven Division

October 31, 2005

ISTANBUL, Turkey -- Turkey's largest home textile manufacturer Zorlu Textile is renewing and upgrading its woven division under the frame of a new modernization strategy.

Corlu-based Zorlu Linen, a subsidiary of the Zorlu Textile Group, has sold half of its woven looms to a Pakistan company. After selling these old machines, the company added 20 new machines to its machine park, which are all fully automatic jaquard woven looms, to produce more valued fabrics.

Also part of this modernization strategy are the agreements signed with Sisley and Benetton, along with the increasing competition in basic products with China and other Far East countries. "Zorlu Textile must continue to upgrade and modernize its technologies and equipments in order to stay competitive in today's market," said Vedat Aydin, director of the Zorlu Textile Group.
