August 1, 2005

NEW YORK, New York — Richloom Fabrics Group has announced the launch of the Liz Claiborne Collection. The collection, which will debut in September at the HD Boutique show in Miami, formally takes Liz Claiborne Inc. into the contract market.

The line is designed for use as bedding, window treatments, and upholstery. According to Richloom, the line of FR wovens will target high-end, and boutique properties in the hospitality market.

"As recent research shows, the trend in high-end hotel properties is moving away from impersonal cookie-cutter design and towards the personal and eclectic sensibility found in the boutique style," explained Virginia Bremer, licensing director for Liz Claiborne Home. "The Liz Claiborne Collection will offer architects and designers a wealth of opportunities to appeal to all the senses of the high-end customer."

Kathleen Maple, Richloom representative, feels that the Liz Claiborne brand is strong enough to pull its own weight in the hospitality arena.

"Hotels are defining their properties via branding and it has become important for their marketing. The Liz Claiborne brand has a strong recognition factor with the consumer," said Maple. Of the company's plans to cater to boutique properties, Maple said: "it is the growing part of the hospitality industry and a strong lead in since they are looking for a forward design aesthetic."

Richloom, who has previously partnered with Liz Claiborne Inc. for a decorative fabric line sold under the Liz Claiborne Home brand, is pleased with the success of their retail sales, according to Maple.

The Liz Claiborne Home collection features furniture, bed, bath and window treatments, blankets and throws, home storage products, decorative fabrics, flooring and soft tabletop. Liz Claiborne Inc. is well-known for its range of fashion apparel and accessories. In addition, brands in the Liz Claiborne portfolio are available at over 30,000 points of sale worldwide.
