London’s Cruise Ship Expo Organizers Given Green Light for Dec. 2-3

LONDON – The Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Europe is expected to happen here on schedule for Dec. 2-3.

The U.K. government recently announced exhibitions can resume from Oct. 1, 2020.

There are expected to be over 300 exhibitors from the interior-design cruise-ship industry, London organizers said on Aug. 4, including architects, outfitters, marine textile companies, and others.

The event is expected to have Europe’s cruise industry “and for this year only the U.S. markets, giving our exhibitors unrivalled access to the industry’s key decision-makers,” the Aug. 4 e-mail reads, adding some of the largest cruise companies will be there, including Royal Caribbean International, Carnival, Celebrity Cruises, Viking, and others.

Organizers continued: “[We] now have 90% of the floor plan already booked.”

As of late June, United States visitors are still required to self-quarantine for 14 days when entering Britain or risk a $1,245 fine. The visitors are required to go straight to the place they are staying, such as a hotel, and remain there for two weeks with no visitors.

Similarly, the U.S. has banned most British travelers since March, as well as European Union visitors.

CRUISE SHIP INTERIORS AMERICA GOES ONLINE

The Cruise Ship Interiors Expo America (CSIE) & Hospitality Expo America 2020 has been canceled this year in Miami Beach, Florida. Instead, an online event is scheduled for Sept. 2.

“Our brand-new platform will bring the cruise interiors and hospitality communities together for an action-packed live day of successful meetings, industry-leading conference programs, and Q&As,” the CSIE release reads.
