ForrestPerkins to Debut New Fabric Collection for Kravet

DALLAS, Texas and WASHINGTON, DC — Two bold, large scale signature designs will hit HD Boutique in September, part of 'The Defining Luxury' by ForrestPerkins Collection for Kravet.

"For the past several years, luxury hospitality design has veered away from prints, particularly in guest rooms and suites," said Deborah Lloyd Forrest, FASID, co-founder and co-principal of ForrestPerkins.

ForrestPerkins wants to fill what they saw as a gap in the marketplace particularly with certain patterns and color combinations. According to ForrestPerkins, designs for the new line are bold enough to stand out on their own or can be paired with the transitional tonal patterns—also part of the collection.

"A white bed cries out for pattern and color elsewhere to balance the unrelieved plainness of the most prominent element of the room," Forrest said of the unadorned white bed that has been adopted by major brands.

"Therefore, we designed the patterns of this collection to be applied to draperies, bed skirts, accent pillows and throws," she said.

The two larger designs, inspired by Art Moderne motifs are accompanied by smaller patterns and textures.

"This elegant line promises to fill a void in the contemporary area," said Tony Amplo, Kravet vice-president of design.

The is the first collaboration between ForrestPerkins, a hospitality design firm headquartered in Dallas, TX and Washington D.C., and Bethpage, New York-based Kravet Inc.
