Dee Opens London Fog Hotel Division

August 8, 2005

NEW YORK, New York — David Dee has been named vice president of the new hospitality bedding and uniform division of London Fog Group.

Dee will be moving to New York from Hollywood, Florida and will be based at London Fog showrooms here.

Prior to this post, he was the founder and owner of David Dee & Company, the hospitality and cruise ship fabric specialist that was acquired by Justin David Textiles in July.

Dee, who has been a consultant to the Homestead division of London Fog for the past two years, says the timing of the sale of David Dee and this offer to develop this new business for London Fog couldn't be better. "It was too good to pass up," Dee said.

London Fog is a successful player in the retail bedding business through its Homestead division with a stable of bedding brands designed and sourced worldwide. Dee, with 20 years experience in hospitality marketing of textiles, expects to leverage London Fog's sourcing expertise in apparel and home furnishings fabrics in this new hospitality effort.

He expects to produce "superior products in top of bed, bedding and bath towels for one to five star hotels at very competitive prices," he said. "We're taking this same approach to uniforms as well." His new line has already hit the street. Holiday Inn Select is his first big hit, Dee said.

"We're doing a white on white satin stripe with a lower thread count that sleeps beautifully," he adds. "This business is about finishing and proper yarn selection. One must be aware the way each hotel company handles these items through housekeeping. Each property handles it differently."
