Decosit Textile Fair Reboots for 2020

Exhibitor Discount Before Feb. 29

February 4, 2020

BRUSSELS -- The new Decosit textile fair from Sept. 8-9, 2020 will be stripped down: standard-size booths, low-participation fees, and no trends area.

Exhibitors get a discount when signing up before Feb. 29. For information, click online at: Decosit.Brussels.

Kris Vermoesen, the temporary Decosit spokesman, says a fair organizer will soon be hired to promote the rebooted Belgium fair.

“It’s not a major expense to participate,” Kris Vermoesen, the temporary Decosit spokesman, says. “All standard booths for everyone. …We want to have a fair to promote winter collections.”

The new Decosit organizers expect about 55 companies to participate, unlike last year, when they had just a couple months to put it together. Easyfairs, a Brussels trade show organizer, suddenly canceled the MoOD+Indigo show last year.

“The industry still felt we need to have a show,” Vermoesen says. “People buy their collections in September, October, to be prepared for the furniture shows at the beginning of the year.”

This year, exhibitors can choose among three booth sizes: 10, 20, or 40 square meters.

“You’re free to design your stand as you want, but they’re all the same size,” he says. “We want to create a meeting point, that’s more the emphasis, not so much seminars or trends.”

Vermoesen is the product manager of textiles for Belgium’s Fedustria (Federation of the textile, woodworking and furniture industries), a textile-furniture-federation company. He stepped in temporarily to help, but a professional trade fair organizer will soon be hired for Decosit.
